Memport vs Snap Backup
"Memories Import: Snap Backup" takes the same approach as Memport: a mobile app that turns Snapchat's export ZIP back into a proper photo library on your phone, ahead of the Sept 26, 2026 deletion deadline. One important caveat before the comparison: as we write this, its App Store and Google Play listings are both unavailable, while its website still links to them. If that's changed by the time you read this, the comparison below still applies.

The short version
On paper, Snap Backup gets a lot right: on-device processing, EXIF dates and GPS restored, pause-and-resume for big imports, and Android support that iOS-only apps (including ours) can't offer. At $4.99 it undercuts us too.
The problem is that an app you can't currently download can't rescue anything, and with the deletion deadline this close, a tool that might disappear mid-rescue is a real risk. Memport is on the App Store today, actively updated, and handles the details their site doesn't mention — captions, multi-ZIP exports, and catching the wrong-file mistake most first-timers make. If Snap Backup comes back and those gaps close, we'll update this page.
